Characteristic function of a meromorphic function and its derivatives
In this paper, some results of Singh, Gopalakrishna and Kulkarni (1970s) have been extended to higher order derivatives. It has been shown that, if $sumlimits_{a}Theta(a, f)=2$ holds for a meromorphic function $f(z)$ of finite order, then for any positive integer $k,$ $T(r, f)sim T(r, f^{(k)}), rrightarrowinfty$ if $Theta(infty, f)=1$ and $T(r, f)sim (k+1)T(r, f^{(k)}), rrightarrowinfty$ if $Th...
متن کاملSome Integrals Involving Bessel Functions Some Integrals Involving Bessel Functions
A number of new definite integrals involving Bessel functions are presented. These have been derived by finding new integral representations for the product of two Bessel functions of different order and argument in terms of the generalized hypergeometric function with subsequent reduction to special cases. Connection is made with Weber's second exponential integral and Laplace transforms of pr...
متن کاملA Completely Monotonic Function Involving the Divided Difference of the Psi Function and an Equivalent Inequality Involving Sums
In this paper, a function involving the divided difference of the psi function is proved to be completely monotonic, a class of inequalities involving sums is found, and an equivalent relation between complete monotonicity and one of the class of inequalities is established. 2000 Mathematics subject classification: primary 33B15, 26D15; secondary 26A48, 26A51.
متن کاملAn Inequality Involving the Generalized Hypergeometric Function and the Arc Length of an Ellipse
In this paper we verify a conjecture of M. Vuorinen that the Muir approximation is a lower approximation to the arc length of an ellipse. Vuorinen conjectured that f(x) = 2F1( 1 2 ,− 1 2 ; 1;x) − [(1 + (1 − x)3/4)/2]2/3 is positive for x ∈ (0, 1). The authors prove a much stronger result which says that the Maclaurin coefficients of f are nonnegative. As a key lemma, we show that 3F2(−n, a, b; ...
متن کاملEvaluation of Integrals of Howland Type Involving a Bessel Function
This paper presents a method of evaluation of four integrals of Howland type, which involve a Bessel function in the integrands. With the aid of tabulated values, they are evaluated to 10D. Two of the four Howland integrals needed in the evaluation are evaluated anew to 20D in order to provide adequate accuracy. In a recent investigation of certain problems in elasticity concerning elliptic bou...
